Do you know how to teach your teen how to write a lab report? Even though I did science labs in high school and college, I don't remember how to write them properly. That's probably because music was my major, not science!

I am so thankful that there are experts out there to help homeschool parents when they don't remember or were never taught these skills. This is one of the reasons why I love Apologia science. Apologia science not only helps you the parent but it also equips the students with skills they will need to do well in the course and continue their education through college or technical school.

"There are several ways to write a lab report, and depending on your class or your instructor, the requirements will vary. But this guide, created by Sherri Seligson, author of Apologia’s Exploring Creation with Marine Biology has been developed to help you understand the reason why knowing how to write a lab report is an important part of the science process. It will also introduce the basic structure of one type of write-up. Watch the video then download the free printable guide."

All four of my children learned from Apologia science from 7th grade through 12th grade. Between the four of them, I went through eight different Apologia science courses! One perk to homeschooling, Mom gets to learn so much, and even better, several times!

These are the Apologia courses we covered in our homeschool.

Exploring Creation with Human Anatomy and Physiology Middle School

Exploring Creation With Zoology 2 Family Bundle: Swimming Creatures of the Fifth Day Middle School

Exploring Creation with General Science 8th grade

Exploring Creation with Physical Science 9th grade

Exploring Creation with Biology 10th grade

Exploring Creation with Marine Biology. 11th grade with two of my children

Exploring Creation with Chemistry 11th grade with two of my children

Exploring Creation with Advanced Biology  12th grade with one that wanted to go into nursing.

When my youngest when through Exploring Creation with Marine Biology, We used the textbook, the Text and Solutions Manual and the DVD. The DVD was a great help. With her working memory issues, it helped to have her read the text, then she went through the same chapter watching the DVD and took notes as well. This repetition of information was extremely helpful. When we went through Chemistry, and Advanced Biology (with two of my children) the DVD had not been produced yet. So we used an online program (no longer available) to teach what I could not in Chemistry and with the Advanced Biology, we had Grandpa, a medical doctor, an A & P professor help!

If your child is not a great reader or has a hard time remembering what they read, or you do not feel equipped to teach that subject, I strongly suggest you purchase or rent the accompanying DVD.  They are very well done. You can rent the  Apologia Science DVD's here at Yellow House Book Rental and save over $60.

Enjoying the journey,
