Are you still searching for a writing program that is perfect for your student and for you, the teacher, AND is not out of this world pricey is hard. Your search is over!

You need to check out WriteShop.

It is our homeschool's absolute favorite!

WriteShop gave my children the foundation they needed. I give WriteShop the credit for helping my first three children (all different learning styles) the ability to write outstanding papers in college.

My first three children did really well with WriteShop, my youngest..... well,....her strong will made homeschooling all subjects, like writing, a little more challenging.

Like her siblings, she went through the upper level WriteShop curriculum, then her senior year she used an online writing program.

Just yesterday as I was reviewing one of her papers before she submitted it, I realized, "WriteShop did sink in! She is using all that she learned from WriteShop! WOW!" (By the way here online teacher continually praised her on work she turned in.)

During our Writeshop years, I was continually having to remind her to follow what she was being taught. I didn't think it was working with her. She had no desire to learn how to write well.

If this is your child, do not lose hope! Repetition and great curriculum can and usually, in time, will click in your child's mind and you will be happily surprised.

Here are 20 Reasons moms love Writeshop

As a parent and teacher, I love Writeshop because it guided me the teacher through all the aspects of teaching each lesson and correcting my children's work. WriteShop teaches students to write while also helping parents teach writing!

How do we as parents give them just enough encouragement, not expecting more than they can handle, but not letting them get away with poorly done work? Writeshop has suggestions for you on how to do that!

This is what Kim, the creator of WriteShop had to say about this...

Do you find it stressful to teach and grade writing because you’re insecure and feel inadequate to the task? A natural response to these feelings is requiring too little from your kids. Maybe you’re only asking them to journal once a week or assigning a book report here and there—just to say, “We did writing.”

You’re an encourager at heart and want to praise your children’s smallest efforts! Chances are, you’re liberal with smiley faces and quick to mark their papers with that default “A for effort.” It’s possible their writing and grammar mistakes continue to multiply simply because giving realistic feedback is hard for you.

The problem isn’t your gentle, fun-loving spirit!

As you’ve discovered, insecurity about teaching writing creates low expectations and inconsistency. This makes for a haphazard teaching style that not only creates a stumbling block for overwhelmed kids, but it affects their confidence as well.

The pendulum can swing the other way too!

Whether you have a background in English or simply have a knack for writing and grammar, you might be setting especially high standards for your kids. That’s not necessarily a bad thing—but it can create problems if you’re too rigid or don’t communicate your expectations.

High standards are important—we want our kids to do their best and strive for excellence, don’t we? "
