It's December, and it's a great time to put aside your regular homeschool routine as you visit with family, make homemade ornaments, and cook your favorite foods.
When my children were young, it was very hard to homeschool between Thanksgiving and Christmas break. So many extra activities, parties, decorating, gifts to be made and purchased, the list goes on and on. (Take a peek at our blog Stress-Free Homeschooling) It didn't take me too long to decide to Christmas-School, learn through crafts, cooking, baking, and shopping and reading! Above are some of our favorites. The little Santa in the picture was one of our crafts one year, making Santa ornaments.
Here are a few other ideas that you will love if you still want to get a little bit of "school" in during this season.
Our first suggestion is Christmas Mini-Builders. With 96 cards to download and print, you will have fodder for dozens of creative writing experiences. Pop them on a ring or into a card file for easy transport, and you can enjoy storytelling on your holiday road trip, too—screen-free!
